Meet our Partners - DITF

The German Institutes of Textile and Fiber Research Denkendorf (DITF) conducts research and development along the entire textile value chain.

Founded in 1921, DITF is among the world’s leading textile research centers, employing 230 staff members and providing 25,000 m² of research and pilot production infrastructure.

Our interdisciplinary research activities combine expertise in chemistry, materials science, process and mechanical engineering, textile technology, and plant design. This combination enables us to address challenges from fundamental research to industrial implementation, developing novel materials, manufacturing technologies, analytical methods, and digital solutions.

The strength of the DITF is the development and processing of advanced fiber-based materials and composites. Research activities include fiber and yarn technologies, textile reinforcements, woven, braided, knitted, nonwoven structures, as well as thermoplastic and thermoset composite systems, supported by characterization, testing, and simulation capabilities, to validate new materials and processes.

Through collaboration with industrial and academic partners, the DITF contribute to innovations in lightweight engineering, mobility, energy technologies, medical applications, protective systems, and sustainable manufacturing. By combining scientific excellence with application-oriented research, the DITF provide a unique environment for transforming new ideas into industrially relevant solutions.
