The Kick-off meeting took place on May. All members gathered to discuss the project’s objectives about new wind energy systems recycling

REWIND project kick-off - Wind Energy Systems Recycling

The project REWIND (Efficient Decommissioning, Repurposing and Recycling to increase the Circularity of end-of-life Wind Energy Systems) is funded by European Union’s Horizon Europe Framework Programme (HORIZON) under grant agreement No 101147226.

REWIND aims at developing critical technologies for dismantling end-of-life wind turbine blades (evaluation, advanced, cutting, etc.) and implementing new methodologies for composites repurposing and recycling (catalytic pyrolysis and solvolysis) to increase the circularity of WTB, increasing the industrial applications of the EoL composites, and avoiding the current landfilling or incineration.

The Kick-off meeting of the REWIND project took place on May 15 and 16 at AIMPLAS facilities, located in the Technological Park of Paterna, Valencia. During this initial meeting, all members gathered to discuss the project’s objectives and planning. The consortium is working on the REWIND project, which aims to address the treatment of composite material waste in the wind energy sector. REWIND is funded by Horizon Europe and CINEA (European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency).

The consortium includes 14 partners from 7 different countries:
