The REWIND Project will be featured at the 9th Annual Wind Blade Materials Innovation and Sustainability Forum in Istanbul on 15-16 September.

The REWIND Project will be presented in Istanbul thanks to TPI Composites Ltd. The 9th Annual Wind Blade Materials Innovation and Sustainability Forum will take place at the Sofitel Istanbul Tarksim over two days.

Berkay Aydoğan, Research and Development leader at TPI Composites Inc. will deliver the keynote address on the second day, at 1:50 p.m. He will provide an overview of the REWIND project goals within Horizon Europe, as well as the results achieved by the consortium during the first 16 months since the project’s launch. According to B. Aydoğan: “Attending the Wind Blade Materials Innovation and Sustainability Forum is important for TPI Composites. It’s a great chance to learn about the latest materials and sustainable manufacturing trends, helping us stay ahead in blade production. It also offers opportunities to connect with industry experts and show our commitment to sustainable innovation in wind energy.”

REWIND: Increasing Circularity of Wind Blades through Innovative Recycling and Repurposing will showcase cutting-edge techniques for dismantling and evaluating end-of-life wind turbine blades. The development and demonstration of repurposing use cases (construction and automotive sectors). And the latest advancements in low-temperature pyrolysis and solvolysis for composite recycling. The researcher will also present real-world validation of recycled materials through demonstrators in the wind sector.

Wind Blade Materials Innovation and Sustainability Forum

Since 2018, this event has been hosted in several countries such us Germany, Spain and Turkey, organised by TBM Group. Istanbul is welcoming experts for the second consecutive year. The event is an in-person forum bringing together R&D experts, OEMs, material developers, and technology providers. The goal is to discuss innovations in blade design, sustainable materials, recyclability, and performance enhancement of wind turbine blades.
